"Bridge to the Future" Youth NGO launched round-table meeting dedicated to local youth involvement in the Erasmus+ Youth. Programme.


 

      On 23rd May 2018 in Baku, "Bridge to the Future" Youth Public Union which was elected as Erasmus+ Youth in Action Contact Point in Azerbaijan for the first time organized a round-table meeting named "Participation and involvement  of Azerbaijani youth in Erasmus+ Youth. Programme: challenges and opportunities". The meeting was organized with the participation of representatives of Ministry of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Azerbaijan, SALTO Eastern Europe and Caucasus Resource Centre, National Assembly of Youth Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan (NAYORA) and European Union Delegation to Azerbaijan.

The main purpose of the event is to increase the opportunities of youth and youth organizations of the European Commission on the opportunities of the Erasmus + Program, to analyze the current situation and to strengthen the potential cooperation of SALTO EECA and Azerbaijani youth organizations. The event was attended by Mr. Fuad Babayev - Head of the Work with the Youth Organizations Sector of the Youth Affairs Department at the Ministry of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mrs. Liliana Budkowska - director of the SALTO Eastern Europe and Caucasus Resource Centre, Ms. Maryam Majidova - Secretary General of the National Assembly of Youth Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan (NAYORA) and Mr. Parviz Bagirov - the representative of the European Union Delegation to Azerbaijan.

Erasmus+ Youth in Action Contact Points are titles given for organizations in Eastern Partnership countries and Russia by SALTO Eastern Europe and Caucasus Resource Centre (part of Foundation for the Development of the Education System in Poland).

            Within this title, Bridge to the Future has been operating as Contact Point for local young people and youth organization since June, 2017 through: 
-  Consulting of interested organizations in Erasmus+ youth opportunities in Azerbaijan, 
-  Implementing informational and promotional events about Erasmus+Programme in the different parts of Azerbaijan, 
-  Raising awareness about the programme, informing local Azerbaijani young people about opportunities to apply and participate in training courses, youth exchanges, EVS projects and etc. with the programme.  

            It has to be noted that BF has been involved in Erasmus+ (before Youth) Programme since 2007. Bridge to the Future NGO started to work on international projects funded by European Commission since 2003.
